DNA Group FAQs
Are DNA groups required?
Being in a DNA Groups is part of the requirement as a covenant member. Jesus told His followers to make disciples and in order to make a disciple, one must be discipled. At Proclamation Church, we seek to see this happen through DNA Groups.
How often do they meet?
DNA groups should plan to meet on a weekly basis for about 90 minutes.
Where do they meet?
Meetings should happen in coffee shops, restaurants, or homes. Where you meet is not as important as how you meet. These groups need to be in a place free of distractions to give opportunity to focus on the conversation at hand.
What does a DNA Group do?
Disciple, Nurture, and Accountability. In detail, these meetings consist of sharing personal stories and struggles, asking questions, listening to each other, reading scripture, praying, speaking the truth in love, repenting and confessing sin, and listening to the Holy Spirit, and submitting to one another.
How do I find a DNA Group?
DNA Groups are formed from existing Family Groups. When DNA groups are made up of people from the same Family Group, it greatly strengthens the Family Group, and helps advance the mission of making disciples who make disciples. However, we ask that anyone interested in being part of a DNA Group that they go through The Weekender and are covenant members of Proclamation Church.
Is there an attendance requirement?
Yes. We highly encourage weekly attendance. If a group only plans to connect every other week, the busyness and unpredictability of life (travel, sickness, holidays, schedule conflicts) will often mean long stretches between solid meetings so we strongly encourage a weekly commitment.
Does the group ever end?
Yes. These groups last from 9-18 months with the hope of multiplication.
